My Logo
The Willy Wagtail
As humans, we seek meaningful connections to one another and the world around us. Some of us seek comfort and strength from a faith connection, some find it within the natural world. Many are drawn to the companionship of animals and can feel a spiritual connection to them. One of the special animal connections I have is with Willy Wagtails. Courageous and inquisitive, these chatty little birds seem to appear when I need a companion.
The Chair
The chairs in my office at school are symbolic of offering a comfortable and sensory way to hold a young person while they share a personal story. They are not run of the mill school chairs- they are big, green, welcoming, comfy chairs that say, “I will hold you safe while you are being brave!”
How I Work
Please complete the Contact Us form to make an enquiry (the tab on the right of the screen).I aim to send a response email or phone call within 48 hours to organise a free 15-minute phone consultation.I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to gauge better understanding of your problem and if I am the right person to support you and your child.Counselling ProcessIf you decide to begin counselling support with me, I suggest a minimum of 4 weekly sessions to ensure that I build a strong rapport with your child and create a strong therapeutic alliance so we can reflect on strategies each week. Then we will review progress and decide as to a way to move forward.1st Session: Assessment & Connection (45 mins)The first counselling session is based around information gathering and is more an interview style, rather than a therapeutic session. I may ask you to complete some questionnaires to help learn more about your concerns, such as when they began and how these are impacting on you and your child’s life.Counselling Sessions (45-50 mins)A therapeutic hour allows for both client time and immediate note taking time. Counselling sessions will mostly involve the parent/carer sitting in the waiting room, while your child is with the counsellor. There will be times, when I will want to include parents/carers in the session or have a short discussion about progress or tasks for you to follow in between counselling sessions. This is a collaborative process, each child and family are unique, and as such I am happy to offer both short- and longer-term therapy. Fees:Free - 15-minute Phone Consultation $100 - 1st Session (Assessment & Connection)$120 – Counselling SessionPayment is required prior to attending counselling sessions via bank transfer.Cancellation PolicyI require 24 Hrs notice of cancellation of sessions, otherwise the full cost will be charged.
